AYD Law Firm proudly announces that Attorney Ye participated in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) CT Chapter Monthly Roundtable held at Greater Hartford Legal Aid.

The event featured a diverse agenda, including a classic roundtable discussion led by Lesly Salafia, Co-Chair of the CT Chapter Employment-Based Practice Committee. The focus was on hot topics in PERM, with a particular emphasis on the new PERM system.

Kate Robinson, Principal at Gallo & Robinson, delivered a comprehensive legislative update, offering a preview of major issues expected in the 2024 Connecticut legislative session. Some highlights included the HUSKY expansion to age 15 effective July 1, 2025, increased Medicaid rates for providers, and discussions on paid sick days, noncompete agreements, predictable scheduling, one fair wage, child tax credit, school meal expansion, and secondary stops and traffic violations.

Ms. Robinson’s insightful presentation also touched upon the existing contract between CT AILA and Gallo & Robinson, which runs through the end of September 2023.

The event further featured a Q&A session with Floyd Cleveland, ICE-ERO AFOD for Connecticut and Rhode Island. Attorney Ye actively engaged in the discussion, seeking answers to member questions about operations at the Connecticut and Rhode Island ICE-ERO field offices. AFOD Cleveland revisited inquiries previously addressed during the July 6, 2023, CT AILA ICE-ERO Liaison Meeting.
